Massachusetts Charitable Mechanics Association is established.

March 15, 1795

Founded by Paul Revere and others, it is described as a “labor union” open to several trades. It is incorporated on March 8, 1806, Revere is its first president. After initially using Faneuil Hall for its triennial exhibitions, the organization builds a new building (first) in 1860,* and then another (second) in 1882.* The organization subsequently moves its headquarters to Quincy and is still operating today.
